StreamerDap

Frequently Asked Questions

StreamerDap is a platform that connects Streamers and Brands for monetization/micro-sponsorship opportunities. Streamers sign up to join the platform, and brands can search for streamers to add to their campaigns when they have sponsorship opportunities available. Streamers can choose whether to accept or decline a campaign at any time.

Brands set up campaigns to promote their brand/product(s) and vet streamers for their campaigns. Campaigns are then typically assigned to groups of streamers with similar metrics with each group having a designated amount of media placements.

Everything regarding the placements is tracked using a browser source added to your scenes as an overlay in your streaming software (such as OBS, StreamLabs, etc). The browser source tracks things such as how many placements ran during your stream and automating the screen placements and chat prompts for your campaigns. Once you add this source and do the initial set up, it pretty much takes care of everything for you – leaving you free to focus on your content and your community!

You can control many source functions via your StreamerDap dashboard – just make sure to click the purple SAVE buttons after making any changes.

💡
Tooltips are provided in your StreamerDap Dashboard to help explain any features & functions in the dashboard that you’re not familiar with.

You can also reach out to a Community Manager via the StreamerDap Discord for questions/support. You can find an invite link to the server by logging into your StreamerDap Dashboard and clicking the Level up! Join the Community button at the bottom of the left navigation panel.

We have 4 basic, minimum requirements to be considered for StreamerDap:

  • You must have streamed at least once in the last 30 days
  • Your ACCV must be 10 or more
  • Your Twitch VODs must be Public and Turned On
  • Your metrics must be genuine (no botting viewers or followers, for example)

Please note that meeting the minimum requirements is only one part of the vetting process.

The brands with whom we work require that VODs be publicly accessible for a specified period of time (listed in the campaign terms and conditions when you decide to accept or decline a campaign) after the sponsored stream/campaign is done so that the stream can be verified for payout.

If the sponsored streams are not stored publicly so they can be accessed freely at any point during that specified period of time, the brands may not authorize payment for that campaign.

No. StreamerDap provides opportunities, but earnings depend on campaign participation and performance.

No. StreamerDap is an integrated system, not a disruptive one! You do what you do best, and we allow you to earn while doing it.

Go to the Join Waitlist Now link on the Creator or Brand Info Page! There you’ll fill out your information and send in your interest for our team to review.

After you sign up for the waitlist, our team will review your submission to determine if you’re eligible to join the platform. If your CCV is 10 or higher, you have public VODs enabled, and you aren’t showing signs of artificial metrics (such as botting) you will get in! Once approved, you’ll see an email come from StreamerDap letting you know how to create your account.

If you’re not approved, you’ll receive an email with more information. If you meet the criteria after receiving that email, let us know! Otherwise, you will be automatically reviewed after a set amount of time and may get in at a later date.

At this time, StreamerDap is currently Twitch only. We are looking to expand to other platforms in the future!

If you have received a campaign offer, you’ll be emailed about it for 7 days. If you accept or decline the offer, you will no longer receive emails about that campaign!

Brands understand that streamers may decline a current campaign for a number of reasons – declining a campaign here or there does not negatively affect your chances of being offered future campaigns. However, not accepting or declining a campaign and leaving the invite just sitting there can look like inactivity or indifference which may affect campaign offers over time, or continuously declining campaigns from a specific brand may affect whether that particular brand offers you future campaigns but will not affect offers from other brands.

There are two ways to get in touch!

  • Discord: Join our Discord Server from the link in StreamerDap Dashboard (you can ping the Community Manager role or open a support ticket from the “Report an Issue” channel
  • Email: You can email us at support@streamerdap.com

We’re sorry to see you go! If you’d like to remove your account, please email us at support@streamerdap.com or open a ticket in our Discord, and we’ll assist you in the removal of your account directly.

Unless designated otherwise, payouts are made 70-90 days after a campaign ends as long as you have provided your tax form and payout method in your StreamerDap Dashboard profile.

You can check all of your payment information, including estimated payout dates, in the Revenue Section of your StreamerDap Dashboard.

The second tab titled “Payment Information” is where you can download/upload the tax form and select your payout method. You must remember to click the purple SAVE button after you add/change anything on this page for those changes to update.

At this time, users can receive payouts via PayPal or Venmo from StreamerDap. You may choose which platform you receive your payouts on in the Revenue Section of your StreamerDap Dashboard.

Currently, if a US-based streamer qualifies by meeting the payout threshold, they will receive a 1099-K from either PayPal or Venmo. If they don’t receive the form, income should be self-reported when applicable. Consult a tax professional for more information.

You can read more about the 1099-K by visiting the IRS website at https://www.irs.gov/ and searching 1099-K or by contacting your tax professional.

No. Brands have complete control over their campaigns. They can run multiple simultaneous campaigns with different groups of streamers that have different starting dates and placement amounts.

Also, not all streamers get invited to all campaigns. Brands select streamers according to their budget and their campaign goals/needs.

For example: A brand might run a campaign with a group of four streamers that started yesterday and lasts a week while also running separate campaigns with different groups of streamers that start tomorrow and end at different times. You may even be invited to another campaign from the same brand!

YES! You’re free to run one campaign or multiple campaigns during the same stream using the SAME browser source (no additional sources need to be added). If you have multiple active campaigns, they’ll rotate one after the other every 15 minutes (or according to your designated throttling options ) automatically during your stream.

What you earn is based on a number of factors such as the brand’s budget, your CCV (which you can view on your StreamerDap profile), audience demographics, prior campaign performance, etc., each factor can affect what is offered for placements in a campaign in different ways – each brand decides what works best for their campaigns.

Campaign invites are not guaranteed and are entirely up to the brands to determine which streamers they would like to participate in their campaign. This is why sometimes you may see other streamers with campaigns that you were not offered. Each brand has complete control over their campaigns from who’s invited to a campaign group, what that group is offered, and when the campaign starts and ends.

Campaigns can vary in length and end under one of the following conditions:

  1. The allotted sponsor placements for the campaign have been used (most common);
  2. The campaign’s end date arrives;
  3. The brand decides to end the campaign early.

You can see approximately how many placements are left in your group’s campaign at any time on your StreamerDap dashboard.

Our reporting system caps at 18 hoursgoing over 18 hours will cause errors in communications and reporting that negatively affect your payouts.

This is why sponsored streams have a strict 18 hour capif you go over 18 hours, it will violate the campaign terms and can make you ineligible for payout.

If you plan a marathon stream:

BEFORE going live, disable/turn off the source in your streamcasting software.

Alternatively (or additionally), you can go to the Browser Source section in your StreamerDap portal and toggle off any active campaigns – just make sure to click the purple SAVE button after doing so. Then after your stream, you can turn them back on through the same process.

If you didn’t plan to do a marathon stream but kept going because the vibes were fire (relatable):

End your stream before 18 hours, disable the browser source in your streaming software or the campaign(s) in your StreamerDap dashboard, then restart after a 5 minute break.

NOTE: If at ANY point you had an active media placement and chat prompt during your stream (even just one), you must end your stream before that 18 hour cap.

To clarify, we are not putting limits on your non-sponsored stream lengths, only sponsored streams that need to stay within the 18-hour max. This is a requirement for payout as listed in the Creator Terms of Use.

Yes and no. While StreamerDap isn’t performance-based, strong engagement can appeal to brands. Clicks are only one part of what brands consider valuable, and it also depends on the brand’s goals for their campaign. Awareness campaigns may place more emphasis on other factors such as audience demographics; whereas, performance campaigns usually place a higher value on link clicks.

Let’s talk Campaign Selection:

  • How do we get assigned campaigns?Short answer: Brands vet the streamers and decide to whom they want to offer campaigns.
  • Is there anything you can do to increase your chances for being selected for initial & repeat campaigns?Short answer: YES!! Brands look at campaign performance. While you’re not paid per click or for any purchases people make, they do take performance into consideration – and in the eyes of the brands and StreamerDap, themselves, performance is measured by link clicks.

Let’s talk about some small things we can do that have a massive impact on that:

  • Brand Call-Outs – This is one of the most impactful ways to affect whether people click that chat link and can be as simple as asking people to click the link and check out the brand/product. No one is going to click that link if you don’t mention it. And not just at the beginning of your stream. Frequency is the name of the game here.
  • Keep it Natural – One of the things I appreciate about StreamerDap is that I don’t have to awkwardly read a script at a specific interval between games which allows me to talk about it in a way that feels more natural. Yes, they’re still going to know it’s a product sponsorship, but that’s ok – that’s what we want. Be honest and upfront with your community.
  • Break Times – This is one of the easiest ways to work a call-out into your stream. “I’m going to go get a drink/grab a snack, while I do that, please take a moment to click that link for <brand> and check them out,” or anything as simple as that. Then when I return, I might ask them something about the brand/product like what flavor sounded the most appealing to them… I think I’d like the <flavor>.
  • Relationships – Use your relationship with your community – they want to help support you! I often have community members ask me what they can do to help support me when things are financially tight for them. This is when I mention that clicking the link and checking out the product is one of the easiest ways they can help support me in a way that doesn’t cost them anything but a few moments of lurk time during a break.
  • Keep it Visual – Draw attention to the logo from time to time: if you’re playing games, take a little break between games occasionally and while you’re talking with your chat, move the logo around or to another location on the screen. (I like to use it to cover up my mini-map in fortnite, for example, but I’ll move it to another area when I switch to a different game or scene.)
  • Check out the Clips Channel – Oftentimes, we will post clips from streams that have some really great examples of ways streamers have seamlessly integrated brand recognition during their stream. If you know you aced a call-out and clipped it, drop it in this channel, too – we save them to highlight to brands for all sorts of reasons!

Trying these things adds minimal load to what you’re already doing with your stream but can have a big impact on campaign performance which can affect whether brands select you for their campaigns.

Tip: Pick just one or two of these ideas to be more conscious of, then as you feel comfortable with those, try another, etc. and then do what works best for you and your community. Also, keep an eye on the Clips channel in our Discord for more ideas – and post ones of your own there when you nail them, too! You never know which brands might see your clips!

Prior to accepting a campaign:

When you are viewing the sponsorship offer, from the Campaign Invite screen (first image), click the purple button that says “Preview Assets.”

From there, you can see the placement and prompt info (second image). These are for PREVIEW only – the Browser Source you add into your streaming software will automatically run the placements. This is why you are able to accept and run multiple campaigns during your stream.

After accepting a campaign:

From the Campaigns Section of your StreamerDap Dashboard, click on the campaign for the assets you’d like to see (third image). There, you can see the media placement, chat prompt, and referral link, in addition to other campaign info such as estimated placements left for your group, revenue earned so far, etc.

Some campaigns come with Brand Guidelines in addition to StreamerDap’s Terms of Service. If you accepted a campaign and want to access the guidelines again, go to the Campaigns Section of your StreamerDap Dashboard and click on the Campaign for the Brand Guidelines you want to see.

Under Campaign Goals, click the PURPLE “Read Guidelines” button and a pop-up will allow you to read, acknolwedge, and save a PDF version of the guidelines.

Artificial metrics are a dealbreaker to Brands, and are strictly prohibited on StreamerDap. We utilize several internal review processes to investigate if a user is botting. If you are contacted with a notice telling you that StreamerDap is suspending your access to campaigns due to botting, we have checked all of the tools available to us prior to contacting you. If you’re contacted about this, you have two options

  1. Wait Out the Suspension. A botting suspension on StreamerDap lasts 30 days. If you no longer show signs of botting at the end of that window, you can continue using StreamerDap as normal!
  2. Contest the Suspension. While we have many systems in place, mistakes can happen. If you submit sufficient evidence, we can lift the suspension early on a case-by-case basis. This is not a guaranteed route and will require sufficient proof to support an overturn.

The StreamerDap media source should work in any streamcasting software that accepts a browser URL in an overlay (which is all of them that we are aware of, but let us know if you’re having trouble)!

Add the browser source link from the Browser Source section of your StreamerDap dashboard to your streaming software in each scene you want placements to appear.

In the properties for the source, tick the box for “Shut down source when not visible” – for each and every scene/instance of the source.

Make the logo about 5% of the viewable area (examples are included below in the “What size does the logo need to be section).

Note: The source can be, but does not have to be, used on every scene. For example, I don’t have the source added to my starting, brb, or ending scenes, but I do have it in my chatting and gaming scenes.

These settings control how often campaign assets (like logos and offer links) appear during your stream. We refer to these as throttling.

For example: If you choose the bottom option of 1 (45 minute break between placements), the campaign’s media placement and offer links will run for the first 15 minutes, then pause for 45 minutes until reappearing or showing your next brand placement.

The top option of 4 (No breaks) allows maximum revenue for your streams, but we want you to have the flexibility and control over the frequency of placements and chat prompts so you can decide what works best for your stream and your community.

During your 15-minute placements, the chat prompt will display according to the number of times shown in the second column. Select the option that works best for you and your community, but you’ll want to make sure you keep the link visible for people to click on since link clicks can affect the successfulness of your sponsored campaign.

The terms & conditions for each campaign designate the size of the logo. Most often you’ll see between 5-10%.

Additionally, please be mindful of any stream or game overlays that may block the placement or cause it to blend in. Brands are paying to have these placements clearly visible, and we need to respect the terms & conditions that we agree to when we accept a campaign.

Please see the examples below based on 5% of the viewable screen size:

All Campaigns through StreamerDap require VODs to be published and public in order to be verified as eligible for payout.

These are all settings that you manage from your Twitch Creator Dashboard:

Step 1: Click on SettingsStream – and Locate the “VOD Settings” section on that page. Make sure “Store past broadcasts” and “Always publish VODs” are both toggled on.

Step 2: Click on MonetizationSubscriptions – find where it says “Subscriber-only archives” and make sure “Only allow subscribers to watch your past broadcasts” is toggled off.

If you had to make changes in Step 1 or Step 2, then you may need to manually publish the past videos still:

Step 3: Click on ContentVideo Producer (second screenshot) and make sure all VoDs that have campaigns that you want to be paid for have been published. You can select them individually, or tick the box at the top to do all of them at once, then click “Publish.”

Create a scene in your software called “SD Watch Party.

Add a Browser Source called “SD Source” as the StreamerDap Browser Source using the link in your StreamerDap Dashboard then set the width to 1920, set the height to 1080, and remember to tick the Box to “Shut down source when not visible.”

Add a second source called “WP Source.” For now, you can put your Twitch site in the URL field and set the width to 1920, set the height to 1080, tick the box to control the audio vis OBS (or your streaming software), and tick the box to Shutdown source when not visible.

Add any cam, vtuber, mic/audio sources as needed.

In the Browser Source section of your StreamerDap Dashboard, verify that your throttle settings are set to the top option of 4 (No Breaks – Placements Continuously Run – Maximum Revenue)” so that the source overlay displays continuously throughout the watch party. Please see the IMPORTANT note below about campaign visibility during watch parties, too.

Some watch parties have templates that are sent out ahead of time so that you can get your scene set up prior to the event. Add it as an image source named “Template” and then move your cam source, etc. into the designated areas. Once you’ve done that, you can either turn off the visibility of the image source in your streaming software or remove it completely.

If a template is provided, you will not use it during the actual watch party – its only purpose is to allow you to get the scene set up prior to the event. When the event goes live, the image you see in the template is what the overlay of the StreamerDap Browser Source changes into instead of using the logo overlays you see during general campaigns.

The Watch Party URLs are given out during the Watch Party campaigns. When you get the URL for the WP, you’ll go into the properties area for your “WP Source” and replace your Twitch URL with the URL provided to you during the Watch Party Campaign.

IMPORTANT: During Watch Parties, the ONLY campaign you can have active during the actual watch party is the WATCH PARTY CAMPAIGN, itself. All other campaigns MUST be toggled off in the Browser Source section of your StreamerDap dashboard during the actual watch party. When the watch party is over, you will turn that campaign off and then turn your other campaigns back on. This is what controls what the overlay looks like – whether it’s the full screen watch party overlay or the smaller logo/gif overlays of the regular campaigns.

Watch Party Campaigns use the entire screen, and the Brands prefer not to have any alerts going off during the Watch Parties (sub alerts, tangia, blerps, etc.). For this reason, sources added to this scene should be minimal. Additionally, no other content (such as playing other games) should be streamed during the Watch Parties.

Each Watch Party will have Brand Guidelines available to explain any other content modifications such as using family friendly language, etc.

If you have any technical issues or questions during the Watch Party, for a faster response, please go to the Watch Party channel in the Discord server and ping the Community Manager role instead of emailing support.

When you first launch the software, the source will be active and you’ll see the placement on your screen (if you have an active campaign) so that you can see the placement and make any adjustments to it before going live.

After 5 minutes, the Browser Source will shut down it if does not detect that you are live.

When you go live, if the source has shut down, in your streaming software, just toggle the source off and then back on or right click and go to properties and click the button to refresh the cache of current page.

You should then see it pop back up on your screen, and a chat message should show up in your chat. If not, then reach out to one of the Community Managers for troubleshooting assistance.

Go through each of your scenes and find the StreamerDap media source, right click on the source and go to properties and make sure to tick the box to “shut down source when not visible” (the wording may be slightly different depending on your streamcasing software). Do this for EVERY scene that you have a StreamerDap media source in.

Then in your current scene, refresh the source by toggling it off then back on (or in the properties window, you can click to refresh cache of current page).

If you’re still having trouble reach out to a Community Manager in the discord for more assistance.

Check your throttle settings in the Browser Source section of your StreamerDap dashboard.

If you want the logo and chat to display continuously throughout your stream, select the first option that says 4 (No Breaks – Placements Continuously Run – Maximum Revenue).

Remember to click purple SAVE button at the bottom of the page after making any changes to the throttling options.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue, please reach out to a Community Manager in the StreamerDap Discord. You can ping them in general chat, and one of us will get back with you when we’re available. Alternatively, you can email support at support@streamerdap.com.

Go to your Twitch Creator Dashboard and click on Settings – Stream:

  • Select the Option to “Store your past broadcasts”
  • Select “Always Publish VODs”

Give it time:

  • It can take up to 24 hours after your stream ends for the stream to appear in the StreamerDap Dashboard.

Still not showing?

If it’s been 24+ hours and you don’t see your stream on StreamerDap, head to the “Report an Issue” channel in the Discord and open up a ticket so we can investigate – please include the the link to your VOD in the ticket. If you don’t have Discord, please email support@streamerdap.com with your VOD link and a description of the problem so we can research and reply to you that way.

Toggling VISIBILITY SETTINGS for Campaigns in your StreamerDap Dashboard:

Access the BROWSER SOURCE section of your StreamerDap Dashboard here.

  • Each active campaign you have will be listed in this section. To the right of those campaigns will be a toggle button that you can slide left or right. If you can see purple in that space, visibility is toggled on; otherwise visibility is off
  • Toggle the visibility settings as needed for your stream; then, click the purple SAVE button. This must be done to save any changes you make on this screen

If for some reason the source does not change automatically after clicking this button, push the purple SAVE button one more time to make sure it saved, and then refresh the media source in your streaming software by toggling it off and then back on or by going into the source properties and hitting the button to refresh the cache of the current page.

The system will stop sending out automatic reminder emails once you accept or decline the campaign invite in your StreamerDap dashboard. This is the fastest way to stop the email reminders.

NOTE: Declining a campaign does NOT negatively impact you, but not accepting/declining the invites can look like inactivity/indifference and may impact the availability of offers over time.

For reference, four (4) emails per campaign are currently sent:

  • When the invite is initially offered
  • 24 hours after the invite
  • 3 days after the invite
  • 7 days after the invite

If you don’t accept or decline an invite, emails will automatically stop after the 7-day reminder is sent as well.

You can check the status of your referrals during a Referral Campaign by visiting the StreamerDap Referral Program Leaderboard.

If someone signed up for the waitlist and was not credited to any creator on our platform, but listed something in the referral field, they will show up on the Missed Referrals Tab! If a creator’s name is listed there but the name is spelled wrong, click the link on the page and submit the credit request form so we can help.

This usually happens for one of two reasons:

  • You did not stream at least once with the StreamerDap source active during the campaign period to activate the tracking for that campaign.
  • The campaign has recently ended and the payments have not yet been verified (see below).

Because the referral campaigns operate under a tiered payment structure, these payments have to be manually verified and calculated. As a result, the status column will show “Missed” during this process. After the referrals and payments have been verified, the status will be updated to “Approved.”

Sometimes Twitch and Discord need to be resynced to reset the communication between them. If you notice Streamcord isn’t autoposting your live notifications/role, please check the following:

  • Streamer Mode is enabled (Discord User Settings → Streamer Mode)
  • Global privacy settings allow activity sharing (Discord User Settings → Activity Privacy → Enable “Share your detected activities with others”)
  • Link/Relink Twitch account (Discord User Settings → Connections → Twitch → Enable “Display on profile”) – if it is already linked, a lot of times unlinking/relinking will resync the communication and resolve this

If you notice that the Streamcord bot is posting your live status in some servers but not others, you can also check this:

  • Per-server privacy settings allow activity sharing (Right-click on server icon → Privacy Settings → Enable “Activity Status”).

Note: If you do these steps while live, you’ll have to wait until your next live to confirm whether it’s working.
